How to Finding the right accommodation in Bali

Some simple advice for travelers to Bali

Bali is a very a popular holiday destination. Depending on the time of year, it can sometimes be difficult to find the type of accommodation that best suits your holiday needs and budget.
One of the most common mistake that travelers make when booking their accommodation in Bali is this….they forget to ask themselves this simple but important question. “What do I want from my holiday experience in Bali?”
Are you after wild nightclubs & bars; lots of drinking; or cheap shopping and restaurants; or adventure thrill-seeking activities; beach related activities such as surfing, skiing or diving; or opportunities to learn about Balinese culture and spirituality?
Once you decide what you want out of your holiday, and then start your accommodation search.
If you want to party, then you should be looking for your accommodation in areas such as Kuta, Legian or Seminyak
Kuta tends to cater for the typical young foreigner from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, Taiwan and Korea. Whilst Legian and Seminyak tends to draw more travelers and expatriates from European countries like Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and Holland. So, if you want to drink, dance and party hard, then focus your search for accommodation in Kuta, Legian and Seminyak because this is where you will find lots of great nightclubs and bars.

The other great thing about these areas is that there’s lots of budget priced hotels to choose from.
For those that love shopping, you should look to locate yourself in any of the above areas as there are hundreds of little places where you can barter for a bargain. But if you are after some fairly sophisticated stuff then Seminyak is definitely where you should seek your accommodation.
If you are after a more lazy, laid-back and peaceful holiday, in luxury style accommodation, then focus your search on hotels and villas in the Nusa Dua or Sanur areas. But be prepared to pay for luxury “five star” hotel or villa accommodation. In Nusa Dua, you can expect to pay anything from $200 to $6.000 per day (USD) for luxury style accommodation.
Another great feature of Nusa Dua and Sanur is that they offers a wide range of water sports, including scuba diving, water skiing, surfing, dolphin and fishing, banana boat, parasailing, and jet ski.
If you are looking for a very relaxing holiday that offers the opportunity to experience the cultural and spiritual side of Bali, then Ubud is the area you should head for. Most tourists who go to Ubud are seeking to experience the tranquility of the thick natural forest and the rich art & cultural traditions practiced by both the local Balinese and some of the many foreign artists that have made Bali (and particularly Ubud) there home.

It is common to see locals and foreigners undertaking yoga sessions in the rice fields or working on their latest painting, sculpture or photographic piece in small art studios.
Because Ubud is located in a mountainous area of Bali, the temperatures are slightly cooler and the air clean and fresh. There are many fine hotels, bungalows and even “homestay” style accommodation in Ubud. Some tourists deliberately chose the unique “home stay” accommodation in Ubud so that they can experience a genuine Balinese lifestyle and meet local villagers.

What is the price range in Bali real estate? Ubud accommodation prices range start from Rp. 100,000 (about $10 USD) per day through to the mid-range hotel accommodation or resorts that typically charge around 350.000 rupiah ($35 USD) per day. Again if you are after luxury style accommodation, you can find it in Ubud. These luxury hotels & resorts offer guests a wonderful range services and facilities, including private pools, spas, saunas and massages designed to reduce your stress levels and refresh your body.
So you know want you want from your holiday, start your accommodation search by entering words such as “Bali accommodation Kuta, or Legian, or Seminyak, or Nusa Dua, or Ubud into your internet search window.

Happy Hunting…….
